The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan, in collaboration with the French Chamber of Commerce and HEC Paris, invites you to a thought-provoking event featuring Alberto Alemanno, Professor of European Union Law and Jean Monnet Chair at HEC Paris.

Professor Alemanno will deliver an exclusive presentation titled “What’s Next for Europe?”, offering an in-depth analysis of the pressing challenges and transformative opportunities shaping the European Union’s future.

As the von der Leyen II Commission embarks on its term, Europe faces critical decisions to address:

  • The escalating triple planetary crisis (pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate change).

About the Speaker

Alberto Alemanno is a Professor of European Union Law at HEC Paris, holding the Jean Monnet Chair. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo.

He regularly contributes to public debate with articles in Le Monde, Politico, Bloomberg, and The Guardian.

A former référendaire at the Court of Justice of the European Union and a lawyer at the New York Bar, he holds LL.M. degrees from Harvard Law School and the College of Europe, as well as a PhD in International Economic Law from Bocconi University.

He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Risk Regulation (published by Cambridge University Press), a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Consumer Policy, and the Review of European Union Law.

In 2015, he was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos.
