An intimate evening celebrating Spain–Japan business relations
The Spain–Japan Business Contribution Awards Gala is one of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan’s flagship annual events, bringing together senior representatives from the Spanish and Japanese business, institutional and diplomatic communities.
The 2026 edition will welcome approximately 90 guests for an evening dedicated to recognising meaningful contributions to the bilateral business relationship, while creating a distinctive setting for conversation, hospitality and new connections.
Now entering its 11th edition, the Gala combines the Awards Ceremony with Spanish gastronomy and high-level business networking in one of Tokyo’s most distinctive settings.
A Spanish-inspired residence unlike any other in Tokyo
The 2026 Gala will take place at Ogasawara Hakushaku-tei, a historic residence and a longstanding reference for Spanish gastronomy in Tokyo.
Its elegant interiors, landscaped garden and intimate scale create a setting far removed from the conventional hotel ballroom, bringing architecture, gastronomy and hospitality together under one roof.
For the Spain–Japan Business Contribution Awards, this connection with Spanish culture makes Ogasawara a particularly fitting setting for the 2026 edition.
From the garden to the table
The distinctive character of Ogasawara Hakushaku-tei shapes the evening itself. Its garden, historic architecture and intimate dining spaces allow each part of the Gala to unfold in a different setting, creating a natural progression from the welcome reception to the Awards Ceremony and dinner.

The Dinner Layout
For 2026, the Gala moves away from traditional corporate round tables in favour of three long tables for approximately 90 guests. The shared-table format is designed to create a more intimate atmosphere and encourage conversation across the room.
Final seating arrangements may be adjusted according to attendance and event requirements.

Established in 2016, the Spain–Japan Business Contribution Award recognises companies and organisations whose activities, investments and initiatives contribute to strengthening economic and business relations between Spain and Japan.
Over ten editions, the Awards have recognised contributions across sectors including sports, automotive, retail, aviation, technology and digital transformation, reflecting the breadth and evolution of the bilateral business relationship.

Spain–Japan Business Contribution Award 2026
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan recognises Mitsubishi Electric Corporation with the 2026 Spain–Japan Business Contribution Award for its long-standing contribution to economic, industrial, and technological relations between Spain and Japan.
Mitsubishi Electric has maintained a significant presence in Spain through its commercial and operational activities and its contribution to sectors including railway infrastructure and advanced technology. The recent €50 million strategic investment in Spanish space company PLD Space, announced in March 2026, represents a new milestone in this relationship, expanding cooperation into the New Space sector and supporting collaboration in small-satellite launch services through MIURA 5.
