X-ELIO, a leading global company specialising in the development of renewable energy projects, which has been operating in Japan since 2012, developing more than 380 MW of clean energy, has provided the local Community Promotion Council in Funaki with emergency shelters and sheds for the storage of goods in an Official Donation Ceremony celebrated this Saturday.
In order to help in the outcome of weather irregularities in the area such as earthquakes, heavy rain and wind complications, these materials will be donated through the support of the Community Promotion Council in Funaki, to a Local Elementary School and to the Local Community Center of Funaki.
The Ceremony counted the attendance of X-ELIO’s Country Manager in Japan, Luis Perezagua, X-ELIO’s Japan Team, members from the Community Promotion Council in Funaki, neighbours from the area as well as local press.
This agreement is part of X-ELIO’s Community Plan Program, which includes regional and local actions intended to promote the Program’s pillars of environment, education, communities and health.
Last year, under this same Program, the company donated three solar energy generators to The Sodegaura Neighbourhood Council, to help the region cope when electricity cuts occur due to weather irregularities in the area.
Luis Perezagua, Country Manager of X-ELIO in Japan stated: “Being able to make a positive impact in the local communities where we operate is one of the main priorities that we hold dear. We believe it is essential to listen to the challenges faced by the neighbours to be able to include them in our agenda, utilizing our expertise, and thus create a meaningful change. At X-ELIO we develop first-class projects with quality, health and safety and the needs of the surroundings as a priority.”
Norihiko Hasegawa, Head of the Community Promotion Council in the Funaki area stated: “The great initiative conducted by X-ELIO to donate storage sheds and tents to the local community in Funaki is much appreciated and we will make full use of these goods. Our Council recognizes the potential risks of natural disasters due to heavy rainfall in recent years, being this a critical topic to be mitigated. We expect these materials donated by X-ELIO will be of great help to the communities and will certainly have a positive impact on the well-being of the local residents. We will use the storage shed in the local elementary school and the tents in the Funaki Community Center.”
