FAQ

Companies or professionals with commercial ties or interest in Spain–Japan relations.

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan offers two main types of membership: Corporate and Individual.

  • Corporate Memberships are designed for companies and provide full access to benefits for both the organization and its designated representatives. These memberships include participation rights in all activities, voting privileges, eligibility for board positions, and increased visibility through Chamber initiatives, among many other advantages.
  • Individual Memberships are intended for professionals who are not affiliated with a corporate member. They include access to events at discounted rates, privileged access to certain activities, networking opportunities, and community engagement. However, individual members do not have voting rights and do not receive corporate promotional benefits.

A full overview of membership categories and corresponding fees is available here: Membership Categories

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan operates on an annual renewal basis. Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining. Renewal is not automatic, but a reminder notice is issued approximately one month before expiration. For example, if a member joins on 1 September 2025, the membership will be valid until 31 August 2026, and a renewal invoice will be issued around early August 2026.

For example, a membership starting in September 2025 will be valid until 31 August 2026, and unless otherwise indicated, a renewal invoice will be sent in August 2026.

Payments are accepted via bank transfer, and individual memberships may also be paid via credit card.

As membership operates on an annual basis, the invoice will reflect 100% of the fee and cannot be split into multiple payments.

A Tax Residency Certificate and a copy of the bank book to prove account ownership can be provided upon request, typically for accounting, tax compliance, or internal administrative purposes.
