SUMMARY:SpCCJ Young Professional Mentoring Program
DESCRIPTION:As organizations have grown more complex\, employees often need to take a more meandering path instead of a straight line to the top. Lateral moves to different departments or divisions can broaden employees’ experience to prepare them for a larger role but also create doubts and insecurities. \nMentoring is a process\, both voluntary and based on trust\, by means of which a person with experience and the will to share it in an unselfish way\, tries to help another to achieve his or her goals and cultivate his or her skills through a series of conversations of a personal kind\, confidential and limited in time\, as well as with other learning activities. \nThe SpCCJ would like to bring the experience and industry knowledge of its business network by creating the SpCCJ Young Professional Mentoring Program to support our young professionals to develop their careers and support their personal growth as a member of society.  \nThe SpCCJ YP Mentoring Program will match mentors & mentees and\, during 6 months\, aim to create the perfect environment where mentors will provide support to their mentees regularly\, giving counseling on career and work-related matters but also providing other advice and useful information. \nApplication for becoming a Mentor and Mentee will be open until January 31. You can participate as a mentee if you are a young professional member or a young employee of an individual\, or a corporate member of our association. Mentors can be individual members or corporate members who wish to volunteer. \nIf you would like to be part of this program send us an email to info@spanishchamber.or.jp.  This program is free of charge.

SUMMARY:6th Inter-Chamber Ski Race
DESCRIPTION:Dear SpCCJ members\, Skiers\, Snowboarders and Onsen Fans – our winter love story goes into its 6th edition! After we had to cancel our Ski and Snowboard event in 2021 due to the pandemic\, we are now preparing for the 2022 edition\, scheduled for the weekend of 11-12 February 2022.Winter sports lovers will notice that this coincides with the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and we hope to get some digital exposure to the games at our retreat. Members\, friends and families of foreign chambers of commerce retreat for a friendly race and a great evening networking party to the mountains of Niigata. With more than 120 people attending\, this is probably the largest inter-chamber weekend retreat in Japan. While organized by foreign chambers in Japan\, half the attendees are usually Japanese\, the other half are foreign nationals. Families\, partners and children are most welcome! Memberships are available from JPY10\,000/year. \n  \nAbout IE Professor Viega   \n \nWith a career of over 20 years in leading global Consumer Goods & Healthcare corporations\, he started as a Research & Development Chemical Engineer at Procter & Gamble\, in Brussels after which he moved to a Product Research role\, where he discovered market research when qualifying fabric softener formula to be launched in Russia\, Eastern Europe & Saudi Arabia. Later he moved to Madrid where he studied “the shopper”\, developed his research techniques and took on all market research of beauty and Gillette categories in Spain. \nIn 2009 he became the Market Research Senior Manager Western Europe\, where he managed a team of experts on research at the point of sale. In 2011 he returned to Madrid as Shopper Market Senior Manager\, where he’s an expert on the shopper\, working closely with sales teams and key distributors. Since 2015 he is Consumer Business Insights Leader at Johnson & Johnson for Southern Europe. \nProfessor Veiga has been lecturing at IE since 2011\, becoming the Academic Director for the Market Research & Consumer Behaviour program in 2015.
