There are many cases where one cannot even get a job without one\, so much so that the author has doubts about the MBA degree. He has seen many MBA graduates who are egg-headed\, as it were\, to the point of not being able to succeed. Through his own experience\, the author explains what it means to sell something and what it means to be customer-oriented. \nOe Masahiko was born on December 3\, 1946\, he graduated from Doshisha University in 1970 with a degree in economics\, and joined Matsushita Electric (Panasonic) in 1970. SUMMARY:IE University Masterclass: Megatrends in 2030 and how to Lead companies there
DESCRIPTION:On February 24 our Corporate member IE University organizes in collaboration with the Spanish Chambers of Commerce network in Asia\, the Online Masterclass ‘Megatrends in 2030 and how to Lead companies there‘ by IE Professor Carmen Morales. In today’s competitive\, complex\, fast-paced global economy\, uncertainty and change are relentless challenges for today’s leaders. Massive global forces will reshape your business for the year 2030: formidable competition\, environmental pressures\, talent wars\, threat of lasting pandemics\, AI and technological leaps will divide the short-term thinkers from the prudent few looking for long-range opportunities. How can leaders make the right strategic decisions and leadership choices? The directions we go and choices we make will have enormous impacts on our lives\, careers\, businesses\, and the world. To lead in a VUCA world\, leaders need to hone their contextual intelligence and understand the megatrends\, and macro and micro level forces influencing their organization’s success. Organizations ranging from Fortune 500 firms to small entrepreneurial start-ups find that they need to change in order to succeed and survive. Change processes are a natural part of evolution. However\, the changes organizations face today and expect in the future\, present significant challenges. Companies are composed of people working together to reach goals they couldn’t reach alone. The purpose of this masterclass is to enable participants to improve their awareness and knowledge of issues that will impact their leadership and businesses looking ahead to 2030\, to be able to embark on paths of personal leadership development. SUMMARY:Politics In The Digital Age: A Change Of The Political Paradigm?
DESCRIPTION:The various scandals engulfing social media companies like Facebook and Twitter are only the tip of the digital iceberg towards which governments\, societies and geopolitics generally are headed. Digital technology is permeating every part of how we are governed – and affecting whom we choose to do the governing.  At the same time\, perhaps less visibly\, it is affecting authoritarian societies. On December 8 our Corporate member IE University organizes in collaboration with the Spanish Chambers of Commerce network in Asia\, the online Master Class ‘Politics in the Digital Age:  A Change of the Political Paradigm?‘ by IE Professor Milo Jones. In this session\, we’ll explore how digital technology has become what philosophers call a “formal cause”\, i.e. something that does not merely have effects\, but that is actually structuring and shaping political and social choices. In so doing\, we will spot clues of how we can expect the future of digital societies to evolve. We look forward to meeting you on-line soon! Event DetailsDate: Tuesday\, 8 December 2020Place: Zoom Online WebinarTime: 17:00 – 18:00 JSTLanguage: EnglishRegistration: EVENT REGISTRATIONRegistration Deadline: Tuesday\, 8 December 2020\, 12:00pmOnly for SpCCJ MembersThis is a SpCCJ Members Only Event. Are you not a Member yet? Find out more about the membership category and benefits on our website and  contact us at info@spanishchamber.or.jp. Membership available from JPY10\,000/year.Dr. Jones’s knowledge of cultural transformation started with his own transformation during training as an officer in the US Marine Corps.  He then refined that knowledge working on Wall Street and in Change Management for Accenture in London.  But the roots of what is uniquely valuable about Milo’s approach to social change has two other sources. \n\nThe first distinctive element flows from his research as a Fellow at the Center for the Study of Digital Life.  Digital technologies are treated as social and psychological phenomena\, not merely as technical changes.  \n\nThe second special component in Milo’s approach draws on his PhD research on the internal analytic culture of the CIA (that was subsequently published by Stanford University Press as Constructing Cassandra:  Reframing Intelligence Failure at the CIA\, 1947-2001).  \n\nThis unique combination of factors and experiences allows Milo to introduce frameworks\, anecdotes\, and insights into his sessions that are truly practical\, fresh\, and memorable.  \n\nBalancing what is technically possible with what is practical for companies and governments today\, he pays special attention to the implications of digital technologies for the skill sets of individual leaders and for the capabilities that organizations need now and in the future.

SUMMARY:Digital Banking: Where to Next?
DESCRIPTION:Registration: https://www.cognitoforms.com/SpanishChamberOfCommerceInJapan/DigitalBanking \nCovid-19 has made digitalisation a must. Mobility restrictions have accelerated the use of digital platforms across industries worldwide\, including banking. Cash transactions dried up and customers have quickly adopted digital channels. SUMMARY:20/20 Vision and the Art of Seeing
DESCRIPTION:Dear SpCCJ Members & Friends\, \nOn 19 August our Corporate member IE University organizes in collaboration with the Spanish Chambers of Commerce network in Asia\, an online seminar inviting Sandra Comas\, MBA teaches at IE Business School and Brown University. \nA few of the most influential business visionaries of our time have created unique\, driving images of what a company can imagine and implement to create maximum impact. Some to consider include Jeff Bezos at Amazon\, Arianna Huffington of Huffington Post\, Travis Kalanick and Dara Khosrowshahi at Uber\, the leadership at Samsung and a young startup\, Digital Energy. As organizations grow from start-up to global change-makers\, their vision of themselves and the world shows continuous adaptation and innovation. What can we learn from them and their challenges that can be integrated into our own unique leadership practice? How are these companies\, and others\, re-imagining their vision for a short and long-term future? What is transformed\, and in what ways\, by a global health crisis of Covid-19’s scale and reach? \nIn this session\, we focus on the essential leadership practice of developing and communicating a vision for an organization. We compare the vision of great artists to those of change-making business leaders who inspire us to view the world in new ways and to bring these views to life. We consider how these visionaries show the pathways and processes for becoming creative and innovative leaders who will shape change in the 21st century\, especially now as we seek to tame or solve the global pandemic and its consequences for business\, local and global trade. \nEvent Details \nDate: Wednesday\, 19 August 2020\nPlace: Zoom Online Webinar\nTime: 19:00 – 20:30 JST\nLanguage: English\nRegistration: https://www.cognitoforms.com/\nRegistration Deadline: Wednesday\, 19 August\, 12:00pm \nOnly for SpCCJ Members \nThis is a SpCCJ Members Only Event.\nAre you not a Member yet? Find out more about the membership category and benefits on our website and  contact us at info@spanishchamber.or.jp.
