On 20th February, a delegation from the Technology and New Ventures team of Repsol, led by Dr. Jaime Martín Juez, corporate director of Technology and NV, and Javier de Diego Pardo, manager of Portfolio Downstream, came to visit Tokyo to look for technological collaboration opportunities in Japan. Repsol is one of the leading companies in the oil and gas industry, which is also known in Japan as the technological partner of Honda in Repsol Honda Team in the MotoGP World Championship.
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (SpCCJ) organized a luncheon with Repsol inviting Japanese mayor companies such as Itochu, Mitsui and Sumitomo to support promoting Repsol’s vision for the future of the energy industry and their business strategy in Japan.
During the luncheon, Dr. Jaime Martín Juez highlighted that “at Repsol we believe that technology is one of the key assets to build the future and find new ways to produce energy more sustainably and transform energy more efficiently.” His presentation was focused on topics ranging from applying scientific and technological solutions in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons to increase the exploratory success rate, their commitment to technology to improve the energy and environmental efficiency of their refining and petrochemicals processes, co-processing biofuels, smart asphalt technology, etc.
After the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions on different topics related to Repsol’s commitment to technology in Japan and the next steps planned towards building partnerships in one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world.
One of the main missions of the SpCCJ is help promoting Spanish Companies/Businesses in Japan and creating new business opportunities and more interactions between business people from two countries. At the SpCCJ, we continue developing our activities to help bringing people from various backgrounds and strengthen business ties between Spain and Japan.
