Have you heard about three Michelin star restaurant Azurmendi in Spain? Azurmendi is the most sustainable restaurant according to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Azurmendi’s Chef, Eneko Atxa’s passion for sustainability and respect for the environment are reflected in many different ways, such as a smart building that regulates its room temperature through a geothermal heating and cooling system, or in the daily delivery of merchandise by only one truck from its own logistic centre to control its carbon footprint, while making sure that all of Azurmendi’s providers work according to this sustainable philosophy. He also composts and reuses organic waste, collects rain water throughout the year, and even recycles ideas in what he calls the “Eneko system.”

About ENEKO ATXA
Eneko Atxa Azurmendi was born on 14th September 1977, in Amorebieta-Etxano, province of Biscay in the Basque Country. After graduating from the School of Hotel Management and Catering, he honed his skills in famous Basque restaurants such as ‘Martin Berasategui’, ‘Mugaritz’, and ‘Asador Etxebarri’. In 2002, at the age of 25, he won the Haute Cuisine for Young Chefs Spanish Award and he opened his own restaurant in 2005, at the age of 27. He has been receiving three Michelin stars since 2012.

The SpCCJ is organising September Tapas night “TTT” on Third Thursday, 20 September! Our popular TTT night is back again after summer vacation! Don’t miss this great opportunity to see your friends and colleagues!
TTT- Third Thursday Tapas night is a monthly casual networking event organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (SpCCJ) to provide a place where Spaniard can mingle with other Spaniard and also with people who are interested in Spain, as well as raise the profile of Spain’s TAPAS culture.
Spanish “TAPAS” culture can be translated as “bar hopping”(ir de tapas in Spanish), which people share some drinks and small plates of food with their friends and colleagues after work for “SOCIALIZING”.
The next TTT night will be held in “Bistro Una Strada”, only 2minutes walk from Kanda Station! It is a newly opened Mediterranean Style Bar and they specially created a package of only 2,000yen for “free flow drinks and 3 kinds of Tapas” for our TTT night! Feel free to join us with your colleagues and friends! *due to limited space of the venue, we ask for a RSVP for registration
